ParklandOne - Password Requirements

"ParklandOne" refers to your digital credentials for the College. It encompasses your Parkland username, password, and multifactor authentication (MFA). ParklandOne account management is powered by a system called Okta. This article explains the password requirements and offers tips to create an easy to remember and extremely secure password.

Your new password must meet the following requirements:

  • At least 12 characters (the more, the better)
  • A lowercase letter
  • An uppercase letter
  • A symbol
  • No parts of your username
  • Does not include your first name
  • Does not include your last name
  • Cannot contain commonly used words that are frequently used in passwords that people create

Numbers are not required, but count towards the character total. Spaces do not count as a required symbol, but count towards the character total.

The longer your password, the better. Do not reuse a password that you have used on another site.

TIP: Create a memorable and unique sentence that meets all of the requirements.
