Okta - Setup the Okta Verify Mobile Application
This article goes over setting up the Okta Verify mobile application for use with the Okta system in order to sign into Okta connected services and Parkland College.
Okta Verify is a mobile application that allows a user to generate a 6-digit code which they will then enter when prompted by the Okta system. Users can also receive push notifications instead of having to manually type in the code when prompted.
Setup
Step 1 - Install the Okta Verify app
- Go to the App Store and download and install the Okta Verify app to your device. Once installed and set up on your device, Okta Verify lets you verify your identity when you attempt to sign in to your Parkland Okta account.
Step 2 - Setup the Okta Verify app
- On the Set up multifactor authentication screen, click the Setup button below the Okta Verify option.
- Select your device type, iPhone (select iPhone for any iOS device) or Andoid and then click Next.
- Add an account:
- iOS
- Tap Add Account.
- When prompted, allow notifications and access to your camera.
- Point your camera at the QR code displayed in your browser.
- Android
- Tap the plus sign (+)
- When prompted, allow Okta Verify to take pictures and record video.
- Point your camera at the QR code displayed in your browser.
- iOS
- When you point the camera at the QR code, the camera detects and reads the QR code automatically and your device will be enrolled in Okta Verify.
- The web browser on your computer returns to the Set up multifactor authentication screen.
- If you are finished setting up the factors for your Okta account, you can click Finish.
