Microsoft Teams - Accessing and Downloading - MacOS (For Personal Macs)
1. In your browser, navigate to go.parkland.edu/office and sign in with your Parkland credentials.
2. Click on the Bento menu button from the Microsoft 365 Dashboard.
3. Click on the Teams icon from the menu as shown in the image down below.
4. The web version of Teams should launch and look like the following:
The desktop application allows for retained sign-in, more integrated notifications, and no browser based limitations. To download the desktop app, please continue with the rest of this article.
1. To access the desktop application, click the Meatballs Menu button in the upper right-hand corner of the web browser application, then select Download the desktop app from the drop down.
2. After the download completes, click the Finder icon located on your dock.
3. Select Downloads from the menu pane on the left, then double click the Microsoft Teams installer package.
4. The Teams installer will launch. Click Continue past the introduction.
5. The next screen informs about space requirements and the audio driver for the software. Click the Continue button.
6. At the next screen, click Install.
7. To install, the program requires credentials of a user that has administrative privileges on the computer. Enter an administrator's username and password, then click Install Software.
8. When the installer completes, click the Close button and it will ask to move the downloaded installer to the trash when closed. Click Move to Trash.
9. To launch Teams after it has installed, click the Spotlight icon in the menu bar at the upper right-hand corner of the screen. (Keyboard Shortcut: Command + Spacebar)
10. Type "teams" into the search bar and then click Microsoft Teams from the search results.
11. Microsoft Teams will launch and prompt you to sign in. Click Sign in.
12. At the next prompt, enter your Parkland email address and click Next.
13. At the next prompt, sign in with your Parkland credentials.
14. Teams should now launch and look almost identical to the web version.
