Managed Print Services (for Parkland Employees)
Effective January 1st, 2018, Parkland implemented a Managed Print Service contract with GFI. The contract covers maintenance and supplies for all laser printers on campus as well as Sharp & Ricoh copiers. This contract standardizes the service and support of these units to a single vendor and will help to reduce our printing costs across campus.
- All of the supported devices should now have been labeled with a unique GFI ID number, similar to ‘CX100’. When you require service, please contact the Tech Service Desk at 217-353-3333 and provide them with the ID number that is listed on the GFI tag. If your unit requires service beyond what Campus Tech can provide, a service ticket with GFI will be created.
- Toner replacements will also be provided by GFI as part of this contract. If your printer/copier has a network connection, GFI will be able to monitor toner supply levels and proactively send out replacement cartridges as needed. If you have not proactively recieved a replacement OR if the device is not networked, users will need to contact the Parkland College Tech Service Desk at 217-353-3333.
Replacement supplies will be sent to your department office with the specific printer listed on the mailing label. When a shipment arrives, the department office will need to closely examine the label to determine which printer it goes to. The Print Shop no longer maintains toner replacements but all used cartridges should be sent to the Print Shop for recycling.
- Ink-jet printers, as well as copiers other than those mentioned above, are not included in this agreement. Departments that currently have those devices will need to continue to pay for service and supplies.
