How to Transfer Files to the H: Drive (Windows)
The H: drive is a network drive that is available to all Parkland employees from any Parkland computer (so long as you are signed in as yourself). The intended use is for storing personal work-related files. Each user has 10GB of space dedicated for their use. The H: drive should be your go-to document storage location moving forward (as opposed to your local computer/C: Drive) because files are backed up nightly and are therefore not susceptible to viruses or ransomware. Please note that only you will have access to the files on your H:drive and shared documents should be saved to the N: Drive instead. To access the H: Drive and transfer files to/from it, please follow these steps.
1.) In Windows 7, click on the Start button in the bottom left corner of the screen and select Computer from the right hand panel. In Windows 10, type in PC in the search field and select This PC.

2.) You should see at least two drives, the C: Drive, and the H: Drive. (You may have other drives available to you such as the N: Drive). The C: Drive is under "Hard Disk Drives" and the N: Drive is under "Network Location". The C: Drive is where all of your documents that are stored on your desktop, documents, pictures, and video folders are kept. If you double click the C: Drive, all of your documents saved on your computer should be there. If you do not see the H: drive, please call the Tech Service Desk.
3.) Go to the location of the file you want to transfer, (Documents, Music, Pictures, Desktop, etc) then click and drag that file to the H: Drive icon you see here. Note: To move a large grouping of files to H, select the first file, press and hold the Shift button on your keyboard and use the arrow keys to add addition files to your selection and then release the Shift button. To move all files to H, press the Ctrl and A buttons on your keyboard at the same time and then release. With either method, you will next want to right-click and select Send To. You should see a list of files and drives appear. Select H: (YourUsername). This will MOVE files to the H: Drive. This means they will no longer be on your C: Drive.
4.) You can then double click on the H: Drive and arrange the files however you would like by creating new folders to store your files in.
