GroupWise WebAccess Client - Mailbox Clean Up
There are no good tools to use inside of the WebAccess client like the Mailbox Cleanup Utility from the desktop client, but there are a few tricks to help you out. Those involve using column sorting to see either the oldest items, largest items, or who a message is to or from. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL AND EXAMINE EACH ITEM BEFORE YOU DELETE THEM. ONCE THEY'RE GONE THEY'RE GONE.
How to clean up your GroupWise from the WebAccess web client.
1. Log in to WebAccess by going to https://webaccess.parkland.edu or by clicking on the icon on My.Parkland.You should see a window similar to the image below once you successfully log in.
2. Click on one of the column headers For example, if you click on the size column it will sort from biggest to smallest, and the next time you click on the header it sort will be from smallest to biggest. The same type of sorting happens on the other columns (from, subject, date) instead its sorted by date & time or alphabetical order. Please see the image below if you're not sure where to click for the column headers (they are highlighted in yellow).
3. Now you just need to delete the items you no longer wish to keep. To select multiple items, you can hold down the left CTRL key and click on each of the individual items you wish to select. To select a block (group of items next to each other), click on the first item and then hold down the left Shift key before clicking on the last item. Now that you have your items selected either press the delete key on the keyboard or right click your mouse on a portion of the highlighted items and click delete. You will likely want to repeat these steps for each folder in your cabinet.
4. Now that you have deleted the items from your mailbox, they were simply moved into your trash. There are two options to remove the items from your trash. You can go in and select the same items using the same technique in step 3 for the Trash folder and instead of selecting delete, right click and choose Purge, or you can click the Empty Trash button (this will remove EVERYTHING from your trash). There will be a window pop-up asking you to verify that you wish to empty these items.
