Composing (creating) emails

Compose an email

  1. From the inbox, click Compose.
  2. Enter the recipient’s email address in the To field. Click Address Book to locate an address from your Address Book.
  3. Enter a brief description of your email in the Subject line.
  4. Enter your message in the Body.
  5. Click the Spell Checker icon to check for misspellings.
  6. Click Send.

Add an attachment to your email

  1. From the Compose New Message page, create a new email as usual.
  2. In the Attachments area, click Browse and select the file you want to attach. If you are using a supported browser, you can also drag and drop attachments from your desktop.
Notes
  • If you add an attachment and want to delete it before sending, click the Remove icon beside the attachment.
  • You cannot add or download the following file types from email messages in Cobra Learning: .asp, .aspx, .exe, .bat, .dll, .com, .asa, .asax, .ascx, .asmx, .axd, .cdx, .cer, .config, .idc, .cs, .csproj, .java, .jsl, .licx, .rem, .resources, .resx, .shtm, .shtml, .stm, .vb, .vbproj, .vjsproj, .vsdisco, .webinfo, .ini.
  • You are limited in the size of the attachments you can send. You will receive a warning message if your attachment is larger than the allowable size.
  • Internet Explorer 9 and older currently do not support dragging and dropping files from your desktop into Cobra Learning.

Compose Message options

Option Description

Address Book

Click Address Book to open, in a pop-up window, an address book containing your contacts. Use the Address Book to quickly fill in the To, Cc, and Bcc fields. See Cobra Learning - Using the Address Book  for information on how to use this feature.

To, Cc, Bcc

You can send messages to contacts by directly entering their addresses into the To field. To expand the Cc and Bcc fields, click Add CC or BCC.

Subject

Specify a subject line in this field.

Priority

Set the priority for this message as Low, Normal (default setting), or High. This priority setting will appear next to your message in the receiver's Message List.

Body

Enter your message into this area.

Spell Check

Click the Spell Check icon to check your message for misspellings.

Preview

Click the Preview icon to have a look at your message before sending it.

Attach a file

In the Attachments area, click Browse to locate the file you want to attach, or drag and drop your files onto the Attachments upload target. You can attach as many files as you want.

Note  Internet Explorer 9 and older currently do not support dragging and dropping files from your desktop into Cobra Learning.

Attach an audio recording In the Attachments area, click Record Audio. Ensure your microphone is set up correctly and click Record. Click Flash Settings to make adjustments to your microphone selection and volume. Click Play to listen to your recording. Click Clear to erase your recording. If you have pre-recorded audio and are using a supported browser, you can drag audio files onto the Attachments upload target.
