Mac - Changing Default Application for Opening File Types
This article explains how to change the default application for opening a particular file type.
1. Select the file.

2. Now, you can either press the combination of Command + I on your keyboard or go into the Finder menu and select File > Get Info.

3. Select the option Open with:, and click the arrow next to it to reveal the application dropdown box.

4. Select the other application you would like to open this type of file with from the Dropdown menu under the section Open with:.

5. Finally, in the section Open with:, select Change All..., if you would like to change the default application that opens this type of file globally and permanently.
