My.Parkland – Opening / Filling Out Forms in Firefox (Windows & Apple)
Occasionally, internet browsers such as Mozilla Firefox need to have certain changes applied in order for content, such as PDFs, to display correctly. This article will illustrate how to enable Adobe Acrobat DC as your default PDF viewer in Firefox, thereby giving you the ability to open and fill out forms on the portal.
If the below image appears at the top of your screen, you will need to enable Adobe Acrobat DC as your default PDF reader.
To enable Adobe Acrobat DC, please follow the instructions below based on the operating system you are using.

Open up Firefox's Settings menu, which should resemble three horizontal bars in the top right of your browser.
The following menu will appear. Select Options.
Select Applications on the left side of the screen and then scroll down until "Content Type" lists Portable Document Format (PDF) as an option. Select it so that it is highlighted. In the Action column to the right of it, use the drop-down arrow to select Use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (default) or Use Adobe Acrobat DC (default).
If neither of those options appear or are not listed as "(Default)" then Windows needs to be told which program should be the default for opening and accessing .pdf files. In order to do this, locate your search bar at the bottom left of your screen or via the Start menu and type "Choose a default app" and hit enter on the selection as pictured below.
Scroll down until you see .pdf as the file type and then check the Default App column to the right. If Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (or Adobe Acrobat DC) is not selected, click on "Choose a Default" and select it as the default as pictured below.
You can now return to the Forms page on my.parkland and try opening up one of the PDF forms again. This time, you should be able to open and fill in the fields on the PDF as pictured below. Please note that some older fillable forms that were created in Adobe Live Cycle Designer may only be compatible with Internet Explorer. If you continue to run into issues, try opening the form in that browser instead.
If you are able to view the form but are unable to fill it out and/or are presented with a message that you need change to a different PDF viewer then you will need to change a setting in your Firefox browser. Open up Firefox's Settings menu, which should resemble three horizontal bars in the top right as pictured below.
The following menu will appear. Select Preferences.
Click on Applications on the left side of the screen and then scroll down until "Content Type" lists Portable Document Format (PDF) as an option. Select it so that it is highlighted. In the Action column to the right of it, use the drop-down arrow to select Use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (default) or Use Adobe Acrobat DC (default).
You can now return to the Forms page on my.parkland and try opening up one of the PDF forms again. This time, you should be able to open and fill in the fields on the PDF as pictured below.
