Using Pages on the Mac
This article is geared toward students who use Pages to create their document files on a Mac for later submission to Cobra Learning.
When you upload a Pages document to a dropbox in Cobra Learning, you may receive feedback from your instructor that they cannot open your file and you may lose points for the assignment.
Note Pages is a proprietary document program for Apple computers and requires that specific software to open the file.
Saving Pages in Microsoft Word format for Cobra Learning
- When you have your Pages document open, click File. But instead of Save, select Export To > and you'll see that you have some options from which to select. Click on Word.
- You'll get a confirmation screen to Export Your Document to Word (or one of the other options) and you will click Next.
- In the Save As box, type the name of the file as you want it to be submitted, and select Where you want to save it. (The Desktop is always a good default option so that you know where to find the document again).
- Click Export.
- Go to your desktop (or where ever you saved the document to) and locate the file. It will now appear for you as a .docx formatted file.
Uploading the Word File to Cobra Learning
So, now you will go to Cobra Learning and to the dropbox to which you need to upload this file. When you click Add a File, you will search to find that .docx file on your desktop and attach that to the dropbox and thereby successfully load a document that your instructor can read and grade.
