Parkland Wi-Fi (Student Access) - Mac

Description of how students can access the Parkland Wi-Fi on campus from a Mac computer.

The "Parkland" SSID is intended for use by Parkland students and guests.

Method 1.

  1. Click the Wi-Fi logo in the top right corner of the screen (Status Menu).


  2. From the list of available networks, select "Parkland".

3. Your default browser should automatically pop up asking you to sign in. If does not after 10 seconds, open your web browser (Safari, Chrome or Firefox) and wait a few seconds for a login screen.


4. Enter your user ParklandOne username and password.

   

5. Logins with ParklandOne credentials are retained for 2 weeks preventing the need to authenticate on a daily basis as long as the device is active on Parkland’s Wi-Fi network within the 2 week timeframe.  The   previous timeout was 6 hours which required users to login each day.

Method 2: If your Wi-Fi Logo is not showing, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the Apple logo in the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Select System Preferences.

  3. Click on Network.

  4. Click the bar to the right of "Network Name".
    Check the "Show Wi-Fi Status" box.

  5. Select "Parkland". 
  6. Open your web browser (Safari, Chrome or Firefox) and wait a few seconds for a login screen.
    Enter your user ParklandOne username and password.
