What is a Respondus LockDown Browser and where is it used ?

This article explains what a Respondus Lockdown Browser is and where these browsers are used at Parkland College.

Respondus LockDown Browser® (RLDB) is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within Cobra and requires your ParklandOne credentials in order to get logged in. When students use the Respondus LockDown Browser they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. When an assessment/test/quiz is started, students are locked into it until they submit it for grading.

Testing centers at Parkland College that use the Respondus Lockdown Browser are listed below:


The Testing Center (within the Assessment Center, room U203) serves the testing needs of Parkland College students. Students are free to take tests anytime during Testing Center (TC) hours of operation,

Hours of Operation:

Mon. - Thurs. 9:00 am to 6:30 pm

Friday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
